How we do our sessions and getaways

Our Retreats are generally 4 days and 3 nights with the exception of our Inside - Outside mind body and soul retreat which is 7 days and 6 nights. Maximum Group size is 8 and minimum is 6, with the exception of the Wine Tasting where the maximum size is 8 and the minimum is 4. Our prices include accommodation and meals and non-alcoholic beverages. Should you wish to bring any other beverages please feel free to.

01 - Wine Tasting Experience

Whether you have a special celebration or you simply want to have a different experience, we can provide a wine tasting and a harvest table dinner for you and your friends.  Maximum of 4 couples. The set up can be either outside or indoors - depending on the weather and time of the year. We will provide 2 bottles of each of the 3 selections of wine (either red white or rose) depending on your tastes.

We will  set up  either outdoors or indoors and walk you through the different wines we have chosen to pair with the cheeses and accompaniments on the table. The tasting itself will be for about 90 minutes - 2 hours, after which we will leave you to further enjoy the afternoon. there will be wines to purchase should you wish to do so.

This is an evening meal, starting with a soup, followed by a main course and finished off with either a dessert or cheese platter. Each of the courses will be paired with one of the wines above. The tasting will take approximately 2 hours. Wines will be available to buy should you wish to do so.

02 - Detox Mind Body & Soul

Whole Food Nutrition Workshop

This is a week-long educational and experiential retreat. Discover ways to reverse the clock and your health. Learn about the value and importance of  nutrition, exercise and meditation in regaining your health. This week will incorporate lectures, learning new ways to cook and experience the benefits of spending time in quiet contemplation in nature.

Cost of this Retreat is R 6500 and is limited to 4 couples. It includes: all meals, accommodation and all recipes and information to help you change your life style. We also include an extra week of help online to help you consolidate what you learned during the workshop.

Program
Day 1
Meditation  & Nutrition
Introducing the practice of meditation to start your day. We spend the first day learning about the importance of nutrition in our journey towards health. Breakfast will be prepared by one or two of the participants
Day 2
Hiking, stretching, meditation and nutrition
Today we learn about the power of meditation and our thoughts. We spend a few hours out in nature hiking and afterwards we learn some important stretches. Participants prepare the lunch for the day and have time to book a massage or reflexology
Day 3
Yoga, meditation, hiking, nutrition
Today we introduce some very simple yoga moves and look at the benefits of using yoga both as a form of strengthening and meditative practice. Participants will have time to relax and book a reflexology or massage session. Participants will prepare the supper for the day.
Day 4 - Day 6
Daily routine practice of meditation/yoga, hiking/gentle walk, good nutrition
Setting up a routine is never easy, having learned about the value and benefits of meditation, physical activity and nutrition, the next 3 days will be about putting them into a routine that can be maintained. During the next 3 days we will also learn how to make healthy snacks and non-alcoholic drinks that are tasty and, easy and easy on the budget.

This retreat is perfect for anyone who just needs to get away from the chaotic life they lead and spend 3 days in silent meditations, walks, painting/colouring in. The silent experience is quite profound because we have to deal with our thoughts without having the opportunity for distractions. after dinner we can spend time reconnecting with each other round a fire, reflecting and discussing our experiences during the course of the day

Silent Meditation
Spending time in nature and in silence is immensely beneficial. For many of us, silence is so foreign as to be unpleasant but once we are used to sitting silently surrounded by our own thoughts, we realise how healing it is.

03 - Women only hiking weekend Experience

 This hiking weekend is for women only and is geared towards the not so fit, & inexperienced hiker who  is too scared to venture out on her own. The duration is 4 nights and 2 days. The weekend starts on arrival on the Friday afternoon with  a gentle stroll to the dam followed by welcome drinks and a cheese, biscuit and biltong harvest table. Maximum of 4 people.          

What to bring: a small day pack, comfortable walking shoes and your own snacks & alcoholic beverages for the weekend.

Program

Arrive Thursday afternoon 2 pm, Settle in before taking a short walk to the dam.

Day 1 Friday                          
Kloof mountain trail 4.5km 3hrs
 Kloof mountain can be seen from the balcony Kahara Maluti. Lodge. The route is approximately 4.5km long and takes approximately 4 hours. It begins with a steep ascent, but once on top there are great views of the village, Mount Horeb and the Maluti's.

6.30 am Get up and have breakfast - provided Lunch in the garden Free time to explore the village, or book a reflexology or massage for your own expense Sundowners and Braai

Day 2 Saturday
Porcupine trail trail 6.4km  2hrs
This is a relatively moderate walk, within the Clarens conservancy

6.30 a.m. Get up and have Breakfast On the Trail. During down time in the afternoon, book a reflexology or massage for your own cost. After Lunch Walk to the dam - approx 1.5 km, followed by Sun downers ,Potjie braai and chats around the fire.

Day 3 Sunday
Brandwag  Buttress trail  2.7km 2hrs

6.30 a.m. Breakfast & leave for Golden Gate. Hike up the Buttress . We will stop at one of the restaurants on the way back for Lunch, (for your own accounts) . Once back in Clarens there will be a little free time to wander around town or book a reflexology or massage for your own expense. Final dinner, drinks and bed. Departure by 10am on the Monday morning..

We are able to offer this for any other 3 days midweek.
